Welcome to an insight into St Patrick's class, where we cherish every day to learn and love! This is where we begin our fabulous journey of discovery!

In our class, we’ve chosen to raise awareness and money for 'The National Autistic Society. This charity is important to us because we believe every person should be treated with respect and given support to help with their differences.
It has also taught us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and allowed us to put into practice the virtues of generosity, friendship and citizenship. Look out for our fundraising activities!
Everyone is welcome - class virtue
At the beginning of the year, we were chosen, as a class, to represent the virtue of love of neighbour and friendship.
Jude S’s quote: “I can show love of my neighbour by helping a lady cross over the road with my Mummy.”
Jagoda’s quote: “A friend in my class showed good friendship when they helped me when I fell.”
Through our learning, we understand the importance of how everyone is unique and special. We learn to respect and love one another through our inclusive days (including Anti-Bullying Day, Dyslexia Day and Autism Awareness Day).
During Black History Month, we learnt that although we all look different and enjoy different things, we are all equal and unique and should treat everyone with respect. We focused on the life of Mary Seacole. We found out that she was treated unfairly due to her skin colour and discussed how this made us feel.
Beyond the classroom
In our class, we’ve enjoyed a wide range of experiences this year to help us develop our love of learning.
We had loved learning and seeing the change from Summer to Autumn. To reflect on how the season has changed we enjoyed our task of going on a walk to collect different autumn objects to create our wonderful autumnal pictures.
We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the festival of Diwali and hearing about this first hand from our wonderful visitor Seema. The children were very enthusiastic and enjoyed seeing all the lovely artefacts such as diva lamps and special clothes. They also enjoyed the retell of the story of Rama and Sita against the evil king Ravana.
We had lots of fun watching the Jack and the Beanstalk production!
Engaging with our learning
Across the curriculum, our minds are filled with wonderful knowledge especially with the help of our exciting and fun lessons.
We have enjoyed learning about different celebrations through our topic of ‘Let’s Celebrate’ which included Bonfire Night, our birthdays and of course Christmas!).
We shared as a class whether we celebrate these events and what we do to celebrate them. We particularly enjoyed looking at our birthdays through the years, roleplaying in our ‘birthday shop’, and making birthday cards and cakes for our friends.
As a class, we have looked at the festival of Diwali and learnt that it is the ‘Festival of Light’ which is celebrated by Hindu people to show goodness overpowering evil.
The children relished the opportunities to create beautiful and colourful artwork, including diva lamps and enjoyed exploring and making their own Rangoli rice patterns.
